Review of the Stamina X Air Rowing Machine

You can’t keep your eyes off the rowers’ product list for five minutes without Stamina launching another model! I think this must be the eleventh model of this brand we’ve tested. And he takes his hat off to them because they brought the budget back to the middle of the price range to make the right choices.

So, what’s going on? Well, parts of the Stamina X Air Rower are bolted to the same chassis as your ATS 35-1405. But if it seems disrespectful, we don’t want to do it. The ATS is a pretty good low cost model, but we think that several changes in the appearance of the X Air Rower have been very important. This means adding a better display/monitor (see below) and improving the footrests. Add a lick of lick or red paint, and you’ve got a good rowing machine for $400.

Let’s start with what may be the biggest problem for potential buyers: the composition of this stuff. I’m warning you, it could take an hour, and there’s plenty of spare parts! So, if you’re not too smart for manual tasks, find someone to help you. Also check the position of the chain during assembly – we had two comments (plus a review at Amazon) that the chain can be repaired, but leave the sprocket out of it!

But once this hurdle is overcome, he is in a good position to row with the fiscal model. The seat is comfortable and rests at a suitable height on a stable rail. And the footrests are better than their predecessors, they are wider and have more supports for a secure grip. So the first impressions, ready to row, are good.

But don’t forget that the resistance mechanism works with air, which means that it is noisy (actually quite noisy), much noisier than a magnetic or air magnetic combination. If you have it in your garage, in your exercise bike, or if you don’t have neighbors to worry about, it’s no problem. But if you want to watch TV and listen to the radio, that’s the way it can be.

Some people really like the noise because they feel it enhances the feeling of a good workout. The vortex of the air fins with a strong retraction on the handle confirms that you are working with these muscles!

Once you start pulling the handle, you might think it’s a machine that can be punished. Although it cannot compete with business models that are five times more expensive, it looks really solid, even at high speeds. It looks like a really robust machine, with a chain instead of a belt (see assembly notes above), a thick, curved steel guide for intensive training and the reliable footrests mentioned above,

Technically, it is classified as a folding machine, but note that it cannot be stored vertically – see photo below right – and therefore needs more space after use than many other folding machines.

Display/Monitor
Has more functions than a monitor on 34-1405 TTY The easy-to-read LCD display shows beats per minute, number of beats, distance, speed (miles per hour), calories and total time. As with all machines in a price range, the measurements are not 100% accurate, but close enough to your training – but note that there is no function to capture the training.

The display turns off automatically after four minutes of inactivity to conserve battery power.

X, the abbreviation for $400 stamina, offers a strong rower who seems to be able to endure some punishment. Many cheap rowing machines, especially hydraulic models, can break down during heavy use, but because of the strong material used here, they can take up much more space. Our only point of contention is a short 90 day warranty on parts.

Put your money in your mouth and give us a longer warranty on parts and we’ll take care of it. Three years on a steel frame is good).

Feedback on similar rowers We love…

  • Sturdy, wear-resistant
  • A good place for a household model
  • Above-average follow-up for the model in this price range
  • Uses a chain instead of a strip of fabric.
  • Integrated transport wheels
Photo We don’t like…

  • It’s an air rudder, so it’s very noisy.
  • Short warranty period for spare parts
  • Requires a lot of assembly work.
  • Batteries for the monitor not included (2 x AA)

If noise is not a problem for you, Endurance X is a good buy. If you need something quieter and a car that you can use for more than a short workout, you can pay a small surcharge for the magnetic model LifeSpan RW1000 or a similar price for the Sunny SF-RW5623 pneumatic/magnetic combination.

I am very satisfied with my purchase. It makes high-frequency sound but does not move and is easy to use. Olly P – owner for 3 months
